The synthetic core, while of similar tensile strength as the paper core, features higher shear and flexural strength. Given its ability to elongate, it is ideally suited to dynamic loading applications where flexibility and energy distribution are required. Typical applications would include sporting goods (e.g. skis, surfboards, wakeboards) or where there is a requirement to conform to curvature.
RhinoKore S150 honeycomb core is manufactured in 4 ft. x 8 ft. panels or custom sizes, in thicknesses ranging from 1/4 in. to 12 in. Available with foam injection or without, both styles of core can be finished with additional skinning or facings, making them paintable or fully finished.
Being polypropylene, the fibers used in the production of the honeycomb core fabric will not support the growth of mildew or fungi. In addition to the flexibility properties mentioned above, S150 foam injected honeycomb core is less than half the weight of plywood and is not susceptible to rot.
Need a custom cut or size? Looking for a unique surface material? RhinoKore also provides custom composite panels for your project requirements.
Honeycomb panels are available up to 4’ x 8’. Thicknesses range from ¼” to 12”
Yes, both honeycomb panels can be ordered without foam injection
Most traditional building products from thermoset and thermoplastic composite skins to metal, wood, or even concrete can effectively adhere to the surface of the RhinoKore honeycomb panels
RhinoKore foam injected honeycomb panels are less than half the weight of plywood and are not susceptible to rot.
